Installation of Pastor Scott Schmidt

In a worship celebration on the Sunday afternoon of September 14, Pastor Scott Schmidt was officially installed as the second pastor in the 30 year history of All Saints Lutheran Church. Members of All Saints along with members of neighboring congregations attended the service. An intergenerational group of about two dozen members of All Saints took active roles in assisting with the service. The festive worship was led by Rev. Christine Stienstra, Assistant to the Bishop of the Northern Illinois Synod and Rev. Brant Clements, Dean of the Central Conference of the Northern Illinois Synod. Rev. Schmidt also presided at Holy Communion. Sixteen area pastors took part in the installation portion of the service by the laying on of hands. Included among those clergy was the recently retired pastor of All Saints, William Nelson. A special offering was received for the ELCA Disaster Response efforts with recent victims of flooding in the United States.
